ABOUT US

LegallyBlack® was founded in January 2020 with the primary goal of bridging the gap between intellectual property resources and minority communities of color. Intellectual Property is a body of law designed to protect and enforce the rights of creators and owners of inventions. Throughout history, the creative work and inventions of people of color have been overlooked, undervalued, and exploited.

LegallyBlack’s mission is to empower and educate communities of color on the value of intellectual property law protection through education and global engagement. We offer free workshops for students (middle school, high school, and college students) and creative groups teaching the basics of the most popular forms of intellectual property protection. We strongly believe by pouring into the next generation of creatives, we can contribute to a more informed and protected society.
